The Arts Industry Council is the independent voice for the arts in South Australia since 1991 and the peak industry body representing all art forms and sectors. There used to be such a voice in each state. Now only two remain, here and in Victoria. We exist because South Australian organisations, artists, artsworkers and arts lovers support our goal to help create a more dynamic and fertile environment for the arts to flourish by joining us and becoming members.

It was a great night which gave members the opportunity to meet and converse on the issues that are currently facing the industry. The dinner was also a terrific networking opportunity and chance to catch up with colleagues. It was also great to have a table of emerging artists and arts workers present. Andrew Wallace, President of the West End Association and lecturer in interior architecture school of art, architecture and design University of South Australia was our guest speaker for the evening. Andrew spoke about the Laneways Project and arts spaces in the inner city, a discussion that is generating a great deal of interest at present. Thanks to the Rob Roy hotel for hosting us, Andrew Wallace for an interesting and informative talk and Phil Callaghan for the advance planning.
